The KickStart project work-placement programme is in its third successful year and aims to create personal confidence and improve self-esteem by enabling candidates work through a programme of communications, ICT and project management while progressing on to a work placement project with a local company.
A unique feature of KickStart is the relationship building and matching of candidate to employer and this liaison work is recognised as key to the success of the programme.
The customised training is a key factor in giving the candidates industry relevant training and more importantly the confidence to carry out the placements.

The KickStart programme in 2014 has so far run three programmes throughout the areas of Kilkenny and Ferrybank. As of July 2014 there have been nearly 40 participants that have graduated from the KickStart programme.

This work placement programme has seen positive outcomes for candidates that range from securing employment, internships, to returning to Further education.
