Benefit 4 Training Programme
Benefit 4 – Introductory IT Training, seven people who were based in Ossory Park and did 2 hours each week for 5 weeks learning…

The group worked well and hope to progress to a follow-on course in Ossory Park developing their IT Skills further. Brid O’Gorman, tutor on the programme paid tribute to the commitment of the group and the progress they had made over the 5 weeks.
KickStart Training Programme
KickStart Project Work Placement Programme, worked with 11 participants on general training around employability skills:
- IT Skills
- Presentation Skills
- Customer Service
- Social Media for Business
- Jobsearch Skills/Techniques
Each person was also supported to find a match with a local employer and progress to a part-time work placement for 6 weeks enabling them to get skills and experience in the area in which they would aim to get employment. Participants were also supported through Dept of Social Protection funding to identify and complete a piece of relevant training. Ann Marie McSorley and Bob Monks who worked with the group in delivering the training and liaising with employers, recognized the wealth of experience among the group and their commitment to taking on a work placement in order to help them gain employment.
Thanks to tutors on both programmes and to the Community Centre in Ossory Park which hosted the training.
